IHS 02 - Breakfast With Peter.

I had just finished having breakfast with My disciples by the Sea of Galilee. Coal barbequed fresh fish and some bread; a nice and simple breakfast. This was now the third time that I’ve appeared unto My disciples as a group since My resurrection. Peter was there, so were Thomas and Nathanael. John, James and a few others too. Not long from now, they will receive their baptism in the Holy Spirit, in Jerusalem. How exciting that will be for them. But for now, it was good to see them again…

After breakfast, I spent some time talking with Simon Peter.

I asked him, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love (agape) Me?” Peter answered, “Yes, Lord. You know that I love (phileo) You.” I said to him, “Feed My lambs.

Then I asked Peter again, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love (agape) Me?” Peter said to Me, “Yes, Lord. You know that I love (phileo) You.” I said to him, “Tend My sheep.

I asked Peter for the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love (phileo) Me?” Peter said, “Lord, You know all things. You know that I love (phileo) You.” I said to him, “Feed My sheep.

As we continued on talking, I informed Peter of the kind of death by which he would glorify My Father. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.

Then I said to Peter, “Follow Me.” After that, he turned around and saw that John of Zebedee was following us. Seeing him, Peter asked Me, “What about him, Lord?” I replied, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.

Remember, Peter. You follow Me…

Note: (1) agape – unconditional love. (2) phileo – brotherly love.
